Oh my goodness it smells amazing in here. Like Thanksgiving dinner in grandma's kitchen; sweet, spicy and welcoming. The ladies were so helpful checking your orders or taking them if you did not order ahead. The line moved pretty quickly and was effortless. This location also has lunch specials during the week.
OMG the ham and potato salad was the BOMB!!! it was my first time going and I got a lunch pack which included the WORKS!!! it was definitely the best ham I've tasted since my Nana's!!!! I highly recommend and yes I'll be back!!!!
Purchased a small "spiral-sliced, hickory smoked, honey'n spice glazed ham" for Christmas dinner last month. The ham was tender and delicious. This business is a longtime staple on the south side of Chicago since 1968. Still family owned and operated. In addition to ham, they also sell whole smoked turkeys and assorted cakes and deli sandwiches. I will definitely buy another smoked glazed spiral ham, probably a boneless ham next time. They also deliver. Check it out.
Turkey Breast is wonderful! Black Owned! I have always visited to get sliced meat. I waited in line for 1.5 hrs two days before the Thanksgiving holiday because they were not taking anymore pre-orders. It was worth the wait. They are a bit pricey but worth it. They are not affiliated with the Palos location! The staff was very friendly and worked to ensure safety measures were in place due to covid restrictions!
So apparently they changed their name from Honeybaked Ham to Chicagoland Ham. They are totally separate companies. If I had to choose between the 2, I would go with Chicagoland Ham. I haven't been here in years, so it was a shock to me. But why the 4 stars? 4 stars because they're pricey and a bit salty, but their ham still tastes way better than the other company. I pre-ordered a ham from them. I specifically said I wanted extra glaze so I can taste it on each slice. I did not get extra anything! It didn't have enough glaze. The first few slices were salty as well, but it got better as I continued to eat the ham. I was slightly disappointed. I walked in and purchased another ham 2 weeks later and it was better than the first one. I voiced my concerns to the staff. I waited until they put extra glaze on my ham. When I got home and opened it, it was a ton of glaze, just the way I like it. Chicagoland Ham is better than Honeybaked Ham. It has more flavor and it's not dry like the other ham. If I want another ham, I will be back!
